The Full Story
We named our home Duafe House as a reminder to ourselves and to the community that home and family exist within a network of mutual care, tenderness, and grounded relationships.
When we set out to purchase a permanent space, our community came together to support us, setting the intention for us to find a safe and sturdy place to hold all that we are to friends, family, and neighbors.
Duafe House anchors all of Folkway's gatherings, workshops, and rituals—as a living example of village building in action. When we cook, fry, laugh, and sit in circle, we remember that community care is not charity but kinship—and that a warm plate can carry as much healing as any ritual.
